    Sleeping Bag/Quilt Liner?

    Hey all,

I recently purchased two new sleeping bags and I am looking to make myself a liner for each in order to promote their longevity. What types of fabrics would you recommend? I assume cotton is bad news but other than that I am not sure what would be best to go with. Thanks.

Cotton is usually bad news. It is sometimes acceptable if it is very thin.

Silk is the traditional material for a sleeping bag liner. It will add a few degrees of warmth, and will help keep dirt away from the sleeping bag. Egyptian cotton has been used, but is hard to get for DIY projects.

Silk is the way to go, feels good to sleep in and very light weight, not to mention warm....
