Hey Oldgringo, I'll bring another to the Ozark hang and we'll compare. If it is different,. we'll swap you. They take a bit of effort to turn on but I found that good as it won't turn accidentally if you leave it on the hammock (as I do) and stuff it in its sack.

Stu, I wasn't complaining. I like it the way it is. Looking forward to seeing you...coffee's on me.

Can't wait to get mine after reading all these praises about the soft light. Ordered one and also the Dutch ridge line set up too, thanks for the tip!

Babelfish5 Turned me on to them. I too am a kindle person who's eyes have gone south and I find I need to use my headlamp for hammock reading. I also like the idea that when hung on the ridgeline it helps you find your way back to your setup in the dark. This forum never ceases to amaze me with it's wonderful shared knowledge.

Word of mouth is a great thing. It was our very own BurningCedar who turned me on to them.

    I like it

Someone gave my Service Dog one of these lights a couple of months ago. I have reflective stuff on her harness, since she is brindle, which means she really blends in with her surroundings, the light looks just like a head light on a dog.
I found some line that is reflective and glow-in-the-dark that I use on my hammock lines. I have too many problems tripping over brush so I decided to risk lighting up where I am hanging, works very well.
Now that I know where to buy the light I am going to buy a couple for my daughters gear.

Got my new hammock "nite lite" today!!

Felt a little like Christmas when I opened my mailbox and saw the little cardboard box in there! The light is everything I have heard, it puts out a warm glow and is not a harsh light to look at. I like the Biner clip and yes, the switch is a bit hard to press on and off, but i won't have to worry about it getting turned on accidentally either. I think it will be on every trip and a welcome accessory for sure.
I also got my new ridge line with the Dutch attachments, will be putting it to use on the upcoming Upstate SC Spring 2012 Hang on the Chattooga. I'll use the new light as a beacon for the night. Thanks everyone for the tip on the great little light!

I have been considering one of them as well. pretty cool. Need to take inventory before I order and see if my son needs anything.

Ordered 2 tonight. I have a red one for my dog but haven't been able to find them in a while. I've been using the nite-ize zip-it in the hammock but these are a lot brighter
