Laying Position

I have a silly question. I have recently purchased a HH Deluxe zip. I haven't had a lot of time to mess with it yet. Question? Is there a proper diagonal lay you should use to make best us of the a-sym design. Head on right and feel on left of center or vise versa. Thanks for any info. With this question.

i followed the directions on my HH bag---

by placing my left elbow into the asym tieout pouch, and extending my right knee into the other asym tieout pouch .. i was able to find great amounts of comfort.

as far as hammocks with built in bugnetting and a fixed structural ridgeline, my HH was the most pleasant.

It's not as asymmetrical as it claims to be, really. It's only that the tie-outs are offset from the centre, one towards one end and the other towards the other end. As a result, it really doesn't matter which is the head and which is the foot end. Eighter way you lay though, you'll want your head to be to the left of the ridge line and your feet to the right (i.e. it's probably not a good hammock for Shug

).

I've found that I prefer to have the zip on my right as I'm laying down, because it's easier to get in and out. I don't have to swivel around on my butt as much, but just bring my feet up and put them near the edge. I don't know if that makes any sense though.

i found the same to be true. laid "lefty" in the HH and had no issues.

When I am on my back, my head is to my left of centerline. Mostly, though, I do some flopping around and my normal position is with my knees slightly drawn up sleeping on my side. The bottom opening (closed) runs across my shins and supports my legs and my wrap-around inflatable pillow keeps my head in line with my body.

I have a Nunatak Arc Alpinist quilt, so when I assume the side-laying position, I can still keep my feet in the footbox and the quilt lays nicely on top.
