Your very lucky to see a bobcat, especially during the day. I have them around my house here in southern Indiana, and about every 6 months may be lucky enough to see one, as you mostly spot them at nite, with your car or spot lites. They are very elusive and even mostly nocturnal. Indiana DNR has about 12, I think around here, radio collar'ed and keep track of them and are always tracking and studying. Recently, we had one hit by a car which is totally unusual, but again, that happened in the evening right after dark.

Gorgeous pictures!
Thanks for the kind words about my photos everyone Thought I'd give an update....
I received an email back from the park manager today and he said that a mountain lion had been spotted and reported a couple weeks ago. I find that funny because by the ears and fur that I saw it looked more like a mountain lion to me albeit a small one. I just assumed it was a large bobcat because of how rare mountain lions are. Who knows... maybe it was a mountain lion! That would've been even more exciting... and dangerous! I just can't be sure because I didn't get a good look at the front of the face or it's tail.
