    How much flatter??

So I am 6' 230# and have and love my WBBB 1.1 dbl. I am in the market to get my wife a hammock and am thinking of getting the 1.7 dbl (or single) for myself and handing down the other. The question is at 230, will the flatness of the lay in the 1.7 dbl or single be noticeably better? I am fine in the 1.1, but flatter is always better for me. I am leaning towards getting either the 1.7 single or another 1.1 dbl for my wife.

I guess the best news is she is finally willing to join me hangin in the trees instead of sleeping on the ground. Thanks-Lance

The warbonnet website has suggestions for weights and the respective hammocks. Try the site and you could always try it out and if you don't like it, you can put for sale here. I wish I had one of each item to be able to compare them and then keep the one that best suits my liking. In a perfect world, heh?

I have the 1.7 and honestly it is way overkill, as the website states. I will admit to ulterior motives though when I got it. I told DH that I needed it because small children end up in MY hammock at night. But in all honesty it was because I was plotting to make his 6'5", 330lb butt into a hanger. "Honey, why don't you just take a nap in the hammock? I'm going to be vacuuming our bedroom...for the next 3 hrs."

I'll be downsizing to the DL 1.1 soon.

I will let warbonnetguy correct me if I'm wrong, but I THINK I remember reading where he posted that he believed the 1.1 DL to be as flat or slightly flatter then the 1.7 DL, all other things being equal. If I were you, I'd either go for the flattest and strongest there is (1.7 DL) or another 1.1 DL. Of course whichever you buy, you can resell here for most/all your cost if you don't like it.

And whither then? I cannot say."

Thanks for the replies. Based on the sites info, I would not hink it would be that much flatter, but worth asking. I am perfectly happy with the 1.1 double, maybe I will just go that direction. I do see the hammocks and other items selling for nearly retail which shocks me, and I find it funny when someone chimes in "that's a great deal I can't believe it is available" when something is being sold for $200 that you can buy new for $210, anyway, I appreciate the help, the most important thing is to get her out there hangin with me.

I am 6ft2 and 280 and use the BB 1.7 dbl and my wife is 5ft3 and 160 and uses a BB 1.0 dbl (the 1.0 is not longer avaialable). One time I went to wake her up and found her feet where her head should be as she had turned around in her hammock during the night and did not know it.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

    My $.02... I have the both the 1.1d & 1.7d.

    I'm 5'07" & 215#. I prefer the 1.1d. So does my daughter, who's 5' & 95#.
