For all your Hennessy Scout owners what is the actual weight rating on the hennessy scout, some sites are say 200lbs and others are 150lbs. What gives?

I'd take it from the horse's mouth that it is 150lb:

It says 150lbs on the website, but I've got one, and it says 200lbs on the bag. I'd go with 150 just to be sure, but I can certainly understand the confusion!
Does anybody know for sure? And also, does anybody know what the weakest link is? If it was upgraded to, say, 1/8" Amsteel whoopee slings (what I have), would that increase the limit, or is it the fabric itself which is limited in capacity?
It's bad luck to be superstitious.
I will E-mail Hennessy Hammock and get back to you guys.

Thanks Rosaleen. I'll be interested to hear the results.
My Scout is for my son, since I'm pretty sure at 6'2" I would find it a bit of a tight squeeze, no matter the weight limit.
Nevertheless, it would be good to know just how soon I'll need to get an upgrade for him, and it's possible he'll hit the weight limit before the height gets too restrictive, especially if it's 150lbs.

OK, straight from Hennessy Hammocks, via Ann Hennessy:
The weight limit on the Scout IS 150 lb. It appears this detail was overlooked and Ann is going to pass the info on to Tom. Some of us may end up with an extra stuff sack freebie.
Does that mean it will fall apart if someone weighing 170 lb sleeps in it? PROBABLY not. Usually there is a buffer in limits. If someone weight 170 lb sleeps in it with the hanging line too tight and bounces when he turns over, expect a problem. My humble opinion.

I've followed their hammocks for a while now and I believe the scout use to be a 200 lbs limit on their site. But they changed it to 150 not too long ago. But back when it was 200 lbs. A co worker got one and he was at 225 and still used it fine and still does to this day. He has since gotten down to 185 but it worked fine when he was at 225.

I'll also add that the 1st night my co-worker used his scout he had a little to much to drink and went to bed upside down in his scout. As in he was laying in the bug net with the hammock hanging over him. We went and checked on him about 30min later and discovered this, seeing as it was in the high teens that night and knowing he had drunk too much we wanted to make sure he had gotten in his bag ok. At the time he was around 225 lbs so I know it will hold up to alot.
Your buddy lucked out, both in his hammock NOT failing and in having friends who checked on him. He is lucky that he survived the night instead of freezing to death or aspirating vomit and suffocating. It happens.
