How are you hanging your gear while in camp?

Last weekend I went hanging with my two kids. We alternated hanging our gear from our tree huggers with spare 'biners, leaning our packs against trees and sleeping with our packs under our hammocks.

How are you dealing with your gear while in camp? Any suggestions for dealing with packs when hammocks are suspended?

    Thanks,

    Javaman

Just today I crafted a strap with an "s-hook" fastened on it. My plan is to wrap that around a nearby tree and hang my pack from the hook. Leaving the pockets slightly open of course so the smallish rodent type critters can check to find no food without having to chew a hole in the pack.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I like to get the pack off the ground even in dry conditions. I put the mostly empty pack on the suspension line at the foot end. If it rains, I put it inside the rain jacket and hang it on the suspension line as well.

I've found that I unload my pack when I make camp. My problem was accessing all my small stuff, yet keeping it together and dry under the tarp. So, I designed this concept of a gear bag that suspends under the tarp from a biner at the foot end to a biner attached to the lekipole pole that creates my "awning". Works well and I can get to ebverything. The empty pack rolls up and is stored with my shoes and gaiters in a clear bag underneath the hammock.

Yeah, I really like your gear bag idea. It would keep all the little stuff together. I'm thinking of making one like it in the near future. Any design hints or things you'd like us to know? (Maybe in a separate thread?)

I fell for this idea as well
I have already order the material for it.
I would love some hints as well.
