For me Hiking is the main goal for sure! I love my hammock and the freedom it's given me, but I have never been that person that would rather sit in camp than go find something interesting. Hanging lets me get out and see those things, but as my mother likes to say, there's too much to see and not enough time to see it all!!

Sitting in camp, I just want to eat, then climb into my hammock for the best sleep I ever so I can get up as early as possible to start hiking again.

I have to say both.I hiked for years with a heavy backpack, tent, etc.and still enjoyed myself. But now that I've gone ultralite and hammock camp(thanks to my son),I want to go more often and stay longer.Sleeping in a hammock is sweet.

I like the hike/paddle cause it gets me away from it all, and the hammock keeps me away from it all!!!!

    so both equally important...

    Love the Hammock

The hike is definately more important than the hang. I use so many different sleepign quarters and enjoy them all.

I love my new HH but am equally happy with my Big Agnes Tent. Especially becuase I can give 2lbs. away to another person and share the load. I end up saving about a pound with the tent over my HH setup. There is plenty of room in my tent. On warmer days though I can drop the insulated Big Agnes pad and the hammock wins on weight. Hammocking just gave me another way to enjoy rest after the trail.

I voted both! As I have such a great time doing both!

I love to hike, put the miles in and feel the burn! See the different terrain! Either alone or with friends (especially great friends like Lazy River Road, Dutch n Stormcrow)!!!

I also love the Hang event's as I can meet up with old friends and make new one's, have some super awesome conversation's (most definitely with Kayak Karl), see the newest inventions by the greatest mind's and DIY'ers like Dutch, Stormcrow, WV, Mac and many many others!

    I like it ALL!!!!

i like to hike (or bike) to a great spot and then hang for days, enjoy the scenery and do bushcrafty things until it's time to go home. tearing down and setting up camp twice a day is not enjoyable, just a necessity and i never count miles/day.
