She bought me a sewing machine?

This morning, my wife hands me a large, heavy box and says 'Merry Christmas!"

I open it to find a new sewing machine! Wait, what? A sewing machine?

I guess she's tired of funding my addiction and expects me to support my own habit .

I'm very excited by the prospect of it and have lots of things I'd like to try, but to be honest, I'm by the whole thought of it.

The only sewing I've ever done is some sloppy needle and thread repairs.

Wish me luck. I hope I don't sew my fingers together...

At least you wouldn't need to go to the ER for "stitches" if that happened.

That's a great idea! I'm taking that other stuff back (ALL the non-hammock camping stuff ) to generate some $ for lessons.

    You are a lucky man!

and If I can teach myself to sew, make a tarp, 6+ hammocks, fleece booties, pillows, ridgeline organizers, TQ, UQ, etc.... then you'll do just fine!

Just remember: if the stitching is really straight, nobody will believe you made it yourself.

    Welcome to the addiction.
