I'm going with the wife and niece so heading up to the cold North isn't a good idea but the moderate weather on the Cape is fine. When I'm having seafood for lunch I'll think of you .

I just returned from a short hike in some surprisingly rough urban woods to check out possible stealth hanging. The stealth part should work, but the woods are full of very large fallen trees and deep gullies. I would not want to be there during a storm.
I hope to get to Grayson Highlands (VA) sometime near New Year's Day.

Me and a couple of guys are heading up to rainbow falls go quick hike and hang.
Swampfox, I just now discovered this thread and I wonder if we were both there at the same time? I went back to Columbia for Christmas and hiked a few loops on the 27th and 28th with some buddies. Very flat indeed. Almost makes you feel superhuman when you realize the pace you are able to keep with very little effort!
"The Road goes ever on and on,
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can.
Pursuing it with eager feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."
