Mostly, I find myself in agreement with MAD777, but if you try to lick my hammock, we're going to have to have a long conversation with lots of sharp, pointy words.

Anyway, I know that you said you're not going to have much cash around the holidays, but (if you have a sleeping bag and pad), you can put together a hang set up for about $20. If you're interested in that, the DIY forum here has multiple articles on how to get started--even if you can't sew.

I live in Winter Haven. If you want to borrow a set up for the January get together, I have several and would be happy to loan you one. You'd have to scrounge up a tarpaulin I only have one of those. A 5x8 blue poly tarp from walmart would work.
