It's always best if your an early riser!
Great vid fella, just to back up your Snugfit thoughts, I've had really good results from mine for the last couple of years paired up with my BB. I've thought about an upgrade a few times but it never wants to let me down.
I borrowed Shug's idea for a square of reflectix under my butt for really cold nights.
There is a weight penalty using the Snugfit over 2/3s or 3/4s UQs. I can't remember the last time I used a full length UQ save this trip with the Snugfit and suddenly I'm spoiled.
Reflecting on the last time I used a full length I think it might have been the original JRB Nest with the split for a Hennessey BackPacker A-sym....thats a few years ago!
I think I'll use the Snugfit a couple more times going 'retro' then put it back for a while for when I need spoiling again
I stole this idea from your recent hang video shug, on that irish fellers feet and he looked pretty happy.. you can't be that happy with cold feet.
I used the trick on the winter hang.. my feet have never been so warm in my hammock to date.. will ALWAYS use this technique now.
Thank's Shug
Brings back memories. Cool video.
Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching it on my lunch break. I do miss the Smokies.

Sgt.Rock-every time I set foot on the Mtn's-To-Sea or Lakeshore Trail or esp. the Benton MacKay I think of you knowing I'm walking in your footsteps and that you used that route on your thru-hike. On this weekends little outing only 1.5 miles were on the Mtn-to-Sea but at one point it too was the Benton MacKaye trail. Good on you to set the example for future AT thru-hikers!
I hope to see you out there again somewhere MedicineMan.
Another great video MM. I spent the evening fettling my Whisperlite, first a little Brasso and now an overnight soak in white gas. Back in the day it must have sounded like a whisper compared to an Optimus, or were you running a generator in the video?
It looks like you had a good time in the Smokies - it is a treasure.
Looking forward to hanging with you in at Red River Gorge - digrat is taking good care of us old guys.
