    1.75 Dyneema tarp lines

After pouring over the various splicing threads I settled in on the “McDonald Brummel” for attempting eye splices in my tarp lines, and now have four matching 1.75mm Single Braid Dyneema Grey tie outs for my tarp with a four inch eye, the question is, I have not stumbled across the best way to finish the loose end. Back splice, knot or melt? What’s the consensus?

i spliced a loop in both ends of mine.
i'm easily confused and easily amused so that solved 2 problems at once.

I'm with Flatline. A loop on each end increases functionality.

Great idea flatline, Wish I had asked about/ thought of that BEFOR I cut them from the spool – live and learn… Looks like I could put a two inch eye and still have about six feet of guy line to work with, think I’ll go that route.
    Thanks!

you can still put loops in the other end, you should have plenty of length.
make some shorter extensions (2 or 3 feet) that you can add if needed for porch mode.
my stake out line is rarely longer than 2' except on the porch side.

I found a drop of superglue stops the ends from fraying. Now I just put an eye in each end, as suggested above.

Yep - eyes at both ends, continuous loops girth-hitched to my tarp eyes and prussic'd to the tarp lines and 1/8" shock cord (5" length) used as tensioners at the stake ends (using clove hitches at each end of the shock cord. Took a while to make everything - but am very satisfied!!
