    Hangin Above, Down Under

    Hello all, if you havn't figured it out yet I'm in Australia in the sunny, humid, hot state of Queensland.

    I jagged a hammock off ebay a week ago & spent the night in the small backyard much to my missus distress. It was great.

    But...the rope I had on hand while strong enough stretched so by morning my bum was on the ground. The tree huggers don't seem to be the best quality either.

    The whole suspension thing is crazy & there is almost an over load of info here. I'm cruising through the Ultimate Hang book which is pretty cool & easy to read.

    I've come to the conclusion that Python Straps or similar are the easiest low tech option. I'll post a separate thread with all my questions elsewhere.

    Anyway thanks for all the great info, top trip reports & fantastic photo's

    Welcome! There is lots of great information here to sift through. Take your time and pick out those bits and pieces information that you think will work work for then give them a try. We all are constantly experimenting with our gear trying new and different things in the attempt to make our individual setups even better. Heck tinkering with gear for many of us is a passion unto itself.
