    It's a sewing machine. Whether or not it is strong enough depends on whether or not it runs. It should be a good enough machine as long as it is good running condition. Beyond that, without looking at it I can't say much more.

    Does it look like this? Most sewing machines can make hammocks and straps, if they are in acceptable working condition. Did you get a manual with your sewing machine?
