I'm hoping that we can keep the frozen temperatures around for the weekend! I don't want to go muding! Ah well, guess this sort of weather means I don't have to invest in snowshoes this year. Oh, and for those expecting snow, Canadian Tire had an ice fishing sled (pulk) on for $23.99, think it was page 4 or some such...

    looking to crash this party

I found my passport - its good till nov 2012.
    So I'm coming up there!
Now to get serious packing tomorrow.
Is the campout starting Saturday morning or Friday night?

How much snow is on the ground now?

I believe most people are showing up Saturday morning. As for the amount of snow on the ground, it remains to be seen, however, I wouldn't be surprised if there was none. I suspect maybe a dusting at best.

If you have the time and due to your distance driving, coming up on Friday may be more feasible for you. Do recall that the sun sets about 5PM.

    See you there.

    Cheers

    Brian

Unfortunately I have to back out of this one. As in the past life has thrown me a bit of a curve ball.

My wife and I have been trying to start a family for the past several years. Early on after we could not conceive on our own it was through fertility treatments and now more recently through adoption.

I got a call today about a couple of children in need of a home, two brothers ages 5 months and 17 months. We would be foster parents until the Children's Aid Society gains custody at which time we could adopt them. It's not certain if they would become ours permanently but there is a very high probability. We are meeting them tomorow and if we proceed we would take the older one home with us on Friday and his younger brother would come a little later. I always knew this was a possibilty since we started the process in the Spring but it's still quite a jolt to get a call one day and become a parent two days later. Most biological parents have 9 months to get ready. I have two days.

I wish I could have gone to this one. I still want to get out for a backcountry hang though. My snow shoes need to get broken in I hope everyone has a great time!

    Hi Bubba,

Congratulations on potentially becoming a family man. We'll miss you at the hang. Have a good one.
