VIDEO: A Nuts Knot.

Just a little outing to show you the knot I have ended up using when tying the line/strap suspension on my WB hammock, since the slipped buntline hitch that Warbonnet recommend is very difficult to loosen after a hang in the hammock.

Good video Blaze. Appreciate your input on the number of turns on the prusik loops. When using 4 turns, we've had customers say that they were more difficult to adjust thus the 3 turns as supplied. One can easily add the extra turn as you did if desired. Wish I could compromise with 3 1/2 turns

Editing to add: If there is a consensus that 4 turns should be the norm on the Dutch Edition ridge line, we'll gladly do it.

Thanks Blazeaway, your enhanced take on the slipped buntline hitch might well be used on any number of different hitch type knots to distribute the load ahead of the hitch and keep it from over tightening. I recall from when I worked around small aircraft we used to similarly do an extra pass through the strut loop when we tied down the planes.

You def. have the primo kit.
I'm going to go raul on you and dissagree with the loosed buntline hitch being difficult to undo after hanging weight is applied. This hitch (also is called a slipped buntline) has never been difficult for me to undo after an all nights sleep. So I look on your vid at 02:27 then open the link you provided showing the diagram of this hitch and I have to wonder.....and wonder....
But I don't wonder long because I switched to whoopies long ago

I'm also wondering how do you get all of that in the ULA Ohm? No food? No stove? Rain kit?

With 4 turns they are definitely more difficult to move. 3 1/2 it is.

Oh yes, it is a classic if you want to distribute load away from a knot.

Well MedicineMan, I am not quite sure what you mean with this:

but I can assure you that it is a slipped buntline hitch that I use and that without the extra turns around the metal on the tree straps the knot is harder to untie than if I use extra turns.

Anyway, because of the whoopie sling argument I yield.

And in my next video I will show the packing of the Ohm for deep winter including all the extras, food, water and fuel.
