Sleeping Bag UQ - Dimension Question

Here's the thought and a general plan:

Take a 20* bag (not down) and make two underquilts, one for me and one for a little chef. The dimensions of each quilt would be 58x48 and 58x36.

    I'm 6', 225#, Little chefs 1 is about 4'8", chef 2 about 4'

Would those dimensions work to provide under cover?

From what I can see, looks like they would. Yours is even wider and longer than the HG Phoenix so seems a safe bet to me.

The only concern I have with SB UQ's is their weight. 1/8" shock cord won't suspend a typical sleeping bag. You may need other suspension options....

Regarding the weight of a sleeping bag as an UQ, I used the following system to suspend a full sleeping bag. Unlike the shock cord system, you have to loosen the Scum Suspension System and then tighten it when you go to sleep. It did keep a full sleeping bag snug against me just like you want.

    This forum is GREAT!

Thanks for the info, I can definitely use that suspension.
