Arrow Need Help Finding Info on Sloppy Floyd State Park & Pinhoti Trail

    Hey Guys,
I am planning a small hike on the Pinhoti Trail and over night at Sloppy Floyd state park. Unfortunately I having some problems finding good information on it. (All the websites have outdated info, or no maps)

Does anyone have any maps or first hand information available that can help out. I appreciate your help in advance. Short hike and good information is key to this outing.

I "think" the right section would be:
    • 6 - 8.2 Georgia Highway 100 at Floyd-Chattooga County Line to High Point trailhead
    • 7 - 9.1 High Point trailhead (Georgia Hwy100) to Mack White Gap( US Hwy27)
    • 8 - 11.2 Mack White Gap (US Hwy27) to West Armuchee Road at Narrows Road

    Thanks

I've hiked the entire Pinhoti...I'll be happy to help.

What you're talking about is sections 19-21. Here's the trail and driving descriptions -
    Links - Section 19 - Section 20 - Section 21

At the end of section 21, the parking spot is described as beside the bridge on West Armuchee Rd. But there's a 2 mile walk along that part paved/part gravel rd to get there. If you simply drive on W.Armuchee Rd to where the trail exits its woods path (there are signs and blazes), there's a nice large gravel parking space there that is used by scouts and mtn bikers. It's a better place to park IMO.

Thanks for the information. Looks like Section 20 has the spur for Sloppy Floyd Park on it.

What map did you find \ use?

I used the free maps and elevation profiles from http://parkaymaps.110mb.com, but the site appears to be down right now.

I think I have them saved at home. If the site isn't up by tonight I can email them to you.
