Winter camping in Shendandoah Natl Park

See above for trip report. Yeah, I didn't do the hot water bottle - but to be honest, it wasn't really necessary, as at the time I got into the hammock the entire front of the shelter was so warm from the fire that I felt like I was in a heated bedroom! I guess it would have been nice to have later in the night though...

I always wanted to do the Riprap Loop this time of year....maybe someday, thanks for reminding me of SNP...need to get back there and explore. Like many I've only seen the way way to narrow view the AT provides there, knowing I'm not really even seen this park at all.
Maybe a group hike-n-hang on the Riprap someday? HOI, you are the expert there, what do you think?
