I have never camped at the park....but several times on Goat Island. Anyone else planning to go that has camped on Goat Island? Scoping out the primitive Goat island camping area would be a good paddling trip destination. If I can go, I would be able to bring extra boat(s) if someone would want to use them.

Hi guys, I haven't been on in a while and was checking out the thread on the Fairfield hang that I missed and saw this thread.
Has anyone actually checked the water levels at Caddo? Our Scout troop was supposed to go last weekend but the water levels are down so low that many of the areas outside of the main channel are not navigable (i.e. dry) due to the ongoing drought. We didn't go.
Maybe things will improve in a few months, if we keep getting rain like we have had this week.

Kathleen and I plan to be there with paddles at the ready...
Shane; if I can get everything together, as of right now I have that on my calendar and radar, I have been wanting to camp at Caddo for a long time.

Well, I thought I had a prior engagement, but it's the next weekend. Since this is only an hr and a half away, I will definitely try to make it. I have a few gear swap items I forgot to bring to the last one and I need to swap some books with oldgringo And what's not to love about gazing into that fire tub at night!
@wnnapddl I was thinking the same thing!
