RedBeard...I don't have a scale so I don't know about the weight...but, I can say for sure that its less than the ENO rope and steel rings that we had on Jenna's hammock. Grizz might have that bit of info handy somewhere. I'll check around at work this morning and see if we have a scale somewhere I can use.

tncamper and hang10 - will shoot a couple of pics later today when I replace the ropes in my DN...

OK, here's a pic of the continuous loop and rings installed in my DN...

Just remove the ENO rope and run one end of the loop through the channel, pull it through the other side and pull the loop over the rings, essentially forming a larks head with the hammock fabric covering the amsteel.

Looks good! As a tip for others, its helpful to tie your continuous loop the the existing rope before you pull it out. Makes threading it through the channel a bit easier.

Doh!! Shoulda thought of that! Still, working the loop through wasn't difficult at all (but that definitely woulda made it even easier).

The two rings are typically used as cinch buckles for webbing only suspension. To use with whoopie slings you could use one ring and larkshead the fixed loop of the whoopie to the ring. The ring acts as a drip stop for wet weather.

per question above, one SMC ring weighs 11 or 12 grams.

I ran my amsteel through the ENO DN channel twice and then made it into the continuous link.
Used a larkshead on the rings.

Ah, I love being a newb and constantly pulling up old threads!

Anyway, I have this set-up and so far, so good. One question for the group. Since I have the ring buckle set-up, does that eliminate the need for any additional drip management? Just curious...
