    1st Trip

I would say my first hammock trip was rather successful. Took me no time at all to set up. It was extremely comfortable. In fact, my lower back was pretty sore from the hike in and I was concerned that the slight curvature of the hammock would cause it to be worse, but it felt like a million bucks the next morning.

The weather gave me a chilly 30 degree night, but with the CCF pad, a couple sweaters under my shoulders and a 15 degree Marmot bag, I was not remotely cold. The pad slipped out from under my feet and over the edge of the hammock at one point, but it was fixed quickly. It was time for a visit to a neighboring tree anyway.

Bottom line is that I am extremely glad that I decided to take the plunge and am already anticipating my next trip.

    Peace!
    -MSG

Nicely done! Great news that the first was so successful. My first few times were not as fun but once I got the ball rolling - look out!

glad to hear your first hang was good
the slight curvature is good for your back it decompresses your spine
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

The weekend was a training weekend for a Search and Rescue group. We spent the second night in debris shelters with no sleeping bags-only reusable space blankets.....There really was no comparison in comfort levels.

That should have been the first night, so your body could have recovered from the ground on the second night.

Glad you had such a great time in the hammock and sorry for your back on the second night in the "rough". Enjoy the hammock whenever you can.

After switching to hammocks years ago, I have never looked back. I wake up after a long hike and feel totally refreshed (most of the time)! Glad you're hooked!
