    Along the lines of "use what you have and what gets the job done", I took a florist wire, stripped the green fuzzy stuff from it, bent it in half to form a snubby point. It works great, has flexibility yet enough rigidity and most important of all gets the job done. I've made several fixed loops, whoopies and such. It can be addictive though so order at least 100' and have a really sharp cutting implement handy (maybe several).

    using what you have... i cut an inch section from a guitar string and using packing tape to attach it to my taper, with the tape extended probably a millimeter past the end of the guitar string. works stinkin awesome. my 50' of amsteel got goned waaayyy to fast
