    1/2 Cuben Under Quilt report

Finaly got to use my 1/2 cuben 1/2 momentun under qulit. I stayed warm enough 30* out. Only problem is every 5 inches where the cuben tuched the hammock the under quilt felt cool and where the momentun was felt warm. All I can think is where the cuben was agenst me there was a restriction of my radient heat into the UQ. The othe side being momentum allowed the heat to escape faster. The oppisite was true where the momentum was agenst me. The cuben on the outside slowed heat loss. This had the effect of every other chamber being cooler. Any other ideas.

Very interesting. Do you think condensation on the cuben could have made it feel cooler? Did the upper surface feel at all damp? In the tubes that had cuben on the bottom, were there any signs of condensation on the inside surface of the cuben? I'm not sure about the radiant heat theory. This isn't the shiny cuben, is it?

Is it possible that the chambers with momentum on the outside simply lost heat faster than those with cuben on the outside?

I was thinking along the lines of WV as well... was there any sign of Condensation ?
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

I think this may be the problem one is loosing heat faster. For those asking about condensation. I saw no indication of any condonsation at all. Juat felt like cool spots.
