    Accessories To Help DIY Sewing

I'm new to the DIY, & I have a Singer Marritt 2404 seen here http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...403#post588403

I'm wondering what accessories others find helpful in sewing projects. I've seen rolled hem foot, and a few others, but I'm not sure if I need them, or where I can order them. I know I want to do some zipper work and I've seen there is an adapter for that as well. Any info would be great.

A zipper foot is important for installing zippers because it allows stitching very close to the zipper teeth without snagging the track. Beyond that... you "need" nothing more than the foot that comes with the machine. Other things like hemming feet and buttonholers can be nice to have but ultimately optional.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

All the stitching here was done with the regular foot on the machine. On some areas, I will let the presser foot "ride" the zipper, and use the zipper and the foot edge as a guide. I go slow, and back up if I miss a stitch. You don't need those other feet, IMO.

Wow, excellent work. Very nice. Gives me hope. And thanks for the tips and info. I'm really trying to take my time and do my research before I purchase a ton of materials, and things I might not need.

    Thanks again.

I've heard some folks use rolled hem feet, but I just roll mine by hand like Rev taught me in his videos...

Make some stuff, have some fun, and don't stress about really straight hems at first... It takes LOTS of practice. My hems aren't perfectly straight... ok, they're not remotely straight sometimes!
