Video: Road to Nowhere Hang GSMNP Nov 4-6 2011

Hanging with DetailMan, Poof, Roach, and Wisenber on the short jaunt to Forney Creek from The Road to Nowhere out of Bryson City.
This was my first time in this part of the park. Poof and I night hiked in to campsite 74 where we met the other hangers the next morning.
Many highlights as always on a group hang-DetailMan is an awesome DIYer, Roach and Wisenber entertaining as always. We picked up lots of good fly fishing pointers from Wisenber and DetailMan. I really enjoyed playing with the GrizzJet (felt burner) in conjunction with a Caldera Cone (the Caldera Fissure specifically). Made a mental note that campsite 74 is a very cold place to hang-Wisenber pointed out that the little valley it is in is in a direct chute from Clingmans Dome so there was always a minor or greater cool to cold wind dropping from the high peak to the lake and over us! Would be an advantage in July.
Here is the vid (Walter, you'll have to suffer through a bit of Mountain Ocarina so skip the first part):

Nice video and thanks for sharing.
What type of instrument were you using??? Sounded very nice particularly with the tunnel's echo.

Nice video as usual Robert. Is there going to be a Roan Mtn High 7 Cold hang this winter? I have already started to buy some additional winter gear.

Nice job MM. Regardless of the amount of traffic the Smokies recieves it is still an incrdeible place.

    Thanks for taking us along.
By the way thanks again for the offer of the shuttle last year on my A.T. section hike.

MedicineMan, thanks for the report and the pics. Looks like a good time was had by all. Liked the looks of CS 74--plenty of good hanging spots.
