Full Length Down Under Quilt Matrix

I am looking to get a Full Length Down UQ and as I often do, I made a spreadsheet of several UQ's I am considering. I have nothing against synthetic UQ's as I own several, I just happen to be looking for a down full length UQ at this time and one that is rated for at 20 degrees or less.

To be considered, the UQ had to use down insulation, be rated for at least 20 degrees or lower and at least 72" long

I have charted UQ's from Wilderness Logics, Hammock Gear, Big Turtle, Leigh's Quilts, Jacks Are Better and Spears Pea Pod. If there are any others, please feel free to add the information. The spread sheet information is from the vendors web sites and if I entered incorrect information, please let me know so I can correct it. The spreadsheet is not locked so anyone can edit it at this time and anyone can use it as they see fit.

WL is one of 3 on the spreadsheet I am considering.

When I started the sheet I just listed the ones I was considering but I decided to add the other choices while I was at it for other hangers to consider.

Thanks for the imput. I was looking at the spread sheet and saw the information being added. First time I have seen that happen while online. That was fun.

Hey Gunner, my scouts still talk about their "Croatan trip"!!!

I've just ordered a full length quilt from Leigh's Quilts. It came a couple of days ago. I got the 60" (hey I'm only 5 foot so that's full length for me!!) 0degree with 2 oz extra over stuff. And trust me that's not over kill for me as I sleep extra cold. I've been able to hang it up once now in the backyard and I'm still adjusting on the shockcords to get it "just right". It looks like, once I get it adjusted right, that I wont need to adjust anymore. Each end has adjustments for shockcords going to the ends of the hammock and adjustments to close up the ends of the quilt to stop drafts.
The 60" is long enough to totally go under my feet and still be just above my neck. I use a down camping pillow when car camping and a rolled up jacket when backpacking. These are enough insulation at my head if I pull the quilt more towards my feet.
I think if I'd gotten the next longer length of quilt, that it would have been to long as I prefer to not have (UQ) insulation under my head.
Another nice thing about Leigh is that she has a soft spot for the military and will give you a discount!!
Looking over my quilt, it is extreamly well thought out. The seams are beautiful. I'm pleased with it and looking forward to testing it this winter. Whichever quilt you decide on will be great, I can only comment on the one I have but other's have tested the other quilts and all comments are good ones.

As a side note, I'll be planning another trip up your way when the weather warms back up a bit (Spring) and hope to see you again then

TinaLouise, my wife has similar problem ( of maybe good thing ) in that she is 5ft 3", a partial UQ is full length for her also. I know one time when we where camping out she turn around in her hammock during the night. Found out when I went to wake her up only to find her feet at the head end of the hammock.

The Neusiok Trail is still in recovery mode from Hurricane Irene. Serveral of us spent this past Sunday on the trail repairing 4 bridges that were damaged from the storm. Plus there are hundreds of trees down along the trail making it a "challenge" to hike the trail right now. The Forest Service is working on clearing the trees but it is going to take time. Hopefully things will be back to normal by this spring. The area your scout troop set up camp appears to have survived with minor tree damage. At least fire wood will not be an issue for awhile
