I have a friend who almost lost everything about 3 years ago. He shot & killed animals for food. I fed him some and so did a couple others. His plan was simple like yours, survive with what you had left. The friends & family he has would have taken him in but he probably would have set up camp somewhere too. Fished, hunted and been fine with a little outside help. Some people are good at this kind of living, most are not. He would have been fine though because he was raised in the country where that is a way of life and already knew how. I admire anybody who tries to be self reliant. Kudos for trying and glad you had backup!

If you haven't already, I hope you can recover a place to live & find gainful employment again soon. Keep us posted.

It's a proven fact that when the body is in an extreme state of relaxation(unconciuous) it will withstand trauma with less damage. Something must have broke or interupted the fall. Put those two factors together and I could see where a person would live through it. MEAT IS MURDER!! TASTY DELICIOUS MURDER!

Wow! That's quite a story! Hope you get better soon. I've definately fallen from the top bunk and not awakened until the next morning to think "How did I get down here?"

As far as I'm concerned, there's room for all of God's creatures...right next to my mashed potatoes!
If God didn't want us to eat animals, then why'd he make them out of meat?

Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can.
    Pursuing it with eager feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

    +1 for the apex predator.
