Whoopie Question - What's the trick?

A question for you whoopie sling experts. How do you make adjustments when you've got a bit of a load in your hammock? I don't mean when a person is in there, but when all your gear is?

I set up for last night with two quilts underneath and a heavy bag inside, went to make an adjustment and couldn't do it. Slippery little buggers are hard to work with. What's the trick?

    weight

weight is the trick! No weight allows them to slide, Weight causes them to constrict and hold.

As above. To take up the slack, you need to take the weight of the hammock.
With one hand, pull the hammock towards the whoopie, with the other hand you pull the tail of the whoopie.

    Got it.

Thanks, pulling up the hammock did the trick. I found that if I also hold the tail with the hand that is holding the hammock the other hand can slide the bury quite easily.

Now loosening the tension was a different story. A third hand would have been, well, handy; but teeth seemed to do the trick for now.

I pull the hammock up to take the weight off the whoopie, then hold the hammock under my arm so I have two hands to adjust the sling.
