    Yeti Removable Liner

    Hey all,

    I am looking into a

3-season yeti from warbonnetoutdoors.com as a Christmas wish

(I'll leave this open for my wife to see

Anyway, the Warbonnet site mentions a snap-on removable liner. I didn't see it listed anywhere. Is this available off-site? If so has anyone used and and if so, does it work well? Cost?

    Thanks for any help!

Dont remember the costs. It works as advertised and for me adds about 7F to the system. It was an option back when I ordered the Yeti. I'd bet Brandon has them and when you order you can ask him about them. I've got one for bot the 3s yeti and WYeti.
Forgot...they are so easy to snap in you can do that before bed and use it as a small sit cloth/organizer cloth before you sleep...if not too cold and ground wet it makes a good landing pad to step out onto from the hammock.

    Thanks, Brandon and Warbonnetguy!

Thanks for the help. I already use a mylar sheet for heat reflection. And for a groundpad I always have an extra chunk of Tyvek that is also a backup tarp (or spare tarp for my wood supply or fire in the rain). That clears things up.

Brandon, I have a WBBB 1.1 DL. If I go to the 3-Season (Vancouver Island gets lots of rain but rarely gets far below freezing) will it work better with the space blanket between the hammock layers or will that cause moisture problems?

Thanks for the excellent service and the beautiful hammock! It really is top of the line!

well, since your space blanket is a vapor barrier, it won't allow moisture to pass, so as long as the mylar is between you and the quilt, the quilt won't get wet from body moisture simply because the mylar won't let your body moisture pass through it to get to the quilt.

without the mylar at all, body moisture should pass completely through the underquilt and pass into the air because the quilt fabric is breathable. the only real way you'd have a problem is if you put the mylar (vapor barrier) on the outside of the quilt, in that case body vapor would pass into the quilt but would not be able to evaporate out the other side because of the vapor barrier on the outside, this could cause moisture to build up inside the quilt. in general, anything between you and the mylar/vb is suceptible to getting wet from body moisture. if you lay directly on the space blanket your clothes may get wet, putting the sb between the layers of the hammock may cause the inner layer of the hammock to get wet, but your insulation should stay dry... never put down insulation between you and a vapor barrier and you should be ok.

    Marvelous!

Thanks for your response. After slogging through the huge detailed articles on the physics of vapor barriers it is nice to hear things laid out plainly. Only 8 weeks till Christmas (fingers crossed).
