This is a soft tyvek, not the stiff crinkly kind. Not sure if its waterproof but I'm sure the guy that runs the site (Steve Ferrel) can tell ya.

I bought my last tyvek off a guy on e-bay. It had no printing so maybe it was the "kite" variety. I think it was on the order of $1.50/foot. Based on the price for a full roll that's pretty reasonable. The shipping was cheap since it's so light. If you can't find a big scrap locally then maybe go that route.

Seriously though, I have nearly a full roll. I need about 20 ft or so but the rest you can have free!
What about using it for a tarp? Would it work?
