    New Member but seasoned hanger

Stumbled across this forum and was shocked to see how the hanging disease has spread across the US Strangest thing is I've never bumped into another hanger in the wild, I must have bad luck or the word is out on me

I called Hennessy a few days ago after a trip and they told me my hammock was discontinued circa 1993. I feel old but the hammock is still in great condition. Most of my hanging is done in the Spring and Fall. I tend to avoid the heat of the Summer and the deep cold of the Winter so I don't normally hang during the months of June, July, August, January, and February.

Most of my trips are in the Catskills (NY), Berkshires(MA), and White Mountains(NH). I take trips here and there every couple of years but usually wind up in the desert.

    Welcome aboard.

Can you tell us what HH hammock model you have? HH's that old are a bit rare.

Do stick around and research insulation methods and gear...I think you'll find that the winter months need not be avoided! Several of us are most keen on the colder months for hammock camping.

Also, we love new areas in the Trip Reports forum. Dive right in.

Welcome to the forum! I would love to see pics of your hammock, it would be interesting to see how they've changed over the years and how well it's held up! 20 years of use has to be a record!

I called Hennessy again because the 1993 date I was given didn't sound correct. My memory isn't the best but losing a decade is hard. The hammock from 2003 or 2004 not the 1990's. Sorry for the confusion.
