    Down sleeves

Whose got em and what do you think?

Paired with a decent down vest, is it going to approximate the feel of a down jacket?

Hamhocker has a pair that she is going to use as leg warmers this winter

Have had mine for years.....they are very versatile....even as sleeves! Pillow, hand warmer muff, butt warmer (stuffed in pants), feet warming sleeping socks, leg warmers, scarf, draft collar..........you get it!
Yes....they make a good jacket out of a vest. Mine are in my pack for a trip right now)))))))))

    Hijacker alert!

Does anyone have a good pattern for down sleeves? I think that they would be a nice test of my emerging gear making skills and it would get me some experience sewing for and stuffing down. Plus it's small enough that if I suck at it I wont be throwing a whole Polarpod's worth of material and down into the garbage .

One of the most versatile pieces of gear I have. Love um.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

    Thanks guys,

I've been gearing up for winter and have been debating about buying a new down jacket. With the sleeves, I figure I can just bring along my vest and have a jacket and a whole lot more.

    Going to order these tonight!

follow Tightwad's link in the message earlier in the thread.
Kudos to him... I used this pattern to make a pair of sleeves, now in moski's possession. The pattern was a lot of help, and a very good DIY project.
