I am a little unsure about Cat cut versus rectangle,
I am thinking that I will go rectangle, and put pullouts on the sides,
also, I might make mini pullouts on the very bottom,
that would get staked to the ground, so it functions like a wall tent,
As someone else pointed out, a little wider than 8 feet would be nice,
I think my final will be approximately 11 x 10 ft.
Really, this post shouldn't be in the WTB forum anymore,
as I have resolved to MYOG.
You can still add a cat cut to a rectangular tarp. It will help with a taunter pitch and IMHO is well worth the effort to add yourself. It is actually easier on a rectangular that a hex setup.
