On a solo trip this summer I had a deer come into camp four times threw the night and blow and stomp, if you have never herd a deer blow it's a warning sound they make by blowing air threw there nose and is quite disturbing at night. I guess I was camped in his spot

2 hippies going at it during breakfast when camping at an established campsite with the family... explain that to your 10yr old... We told her it was sasquatch doing exercises in the woods... This went on for an hour despite other campers yelling to keep it down etc, got to give them credit for tenacity.

The Javalina grinding their teeth was pretty interesting. You know they are close when you can hear that.

This was another good one. My dad and I were in the Shenandoah National Park and we had packed in a bota of mead that I had made. After consuming said mead, my dad got into this hooting match with not 1, but 2 owls. Not sure what kind they are. Enjoy.

In a eucalyptus grove in northern Israel: the sound of a large rodent scrambling around, which, it turned out, what produced by said rodent gnawing into my food supplies (which I had, dumbly, left in only a plastic bag outside my backpack) and eating most of my loaf of bread through a hole in the bag. Those groves are kind of a cool place to camp as it's basically a jungle, but it's not worth the wildlife. Not to mention the danger of widowmakers; eucalyptus trees are notorious for dropping limbs.

    Armadillos.

I woke at an established campsite to the sound of what seemed like an entire cub scout troop tromping through the bushes next to my site. I got up, hoping that it wasn't a bear or someone trying to steal my bike, and looked out, and sure enough...a single armadillo was making all of that noise.
