Fraying Tree huggers

This is my problem I haven't use these t-huggers all that long. And yes those are older dutch clips. Now I'm starting to see some fraying.
Now thats getting me a bit worried.

I can't remember where I bought them. And there is also some stretch.
Am I doing something wrong? Old DCs? Wrong webbing?
Help please....

Are you hanging from the same tree and/or attaching the DC to the same spot over & over again?

The webbing looks like it hasn't been loaded 'squarely', is it getting bunched-up when you sit in the hammock?

I use older Dutch clips like those with no problems, but I've seen some webbing that frayed or got cut by tree bark when hung repeatedly on the same tree (no damage at the Dutch clip contact point). From your pics the clips look smooth, but the webbing looks funny - not just the frayed part - but it's really hard to tell. Replace the webbing and check the new stuff often. My 2 cents.

Those are some of the best Clips I ever made. I think it is definately time to replace your webbing. I have some pretty rough looking webbing myself. I have been trying to replae it evey 2 years but I don't write a date on them so I just replace when they start to show wear.

Those Dutch Clips were polished by hand by me. I don't regret to switching to having them mechanically polished because I don't burn my hands at the grinding whee any morel. However there is just somehing special about something hand made.

The DCs are for sure not a problem. I put them up to show what I was hooking the THs up with. This set of TH I used to have a MSH in them. I'm thinking its the type of webbing I'm using.

the webbing may not be 100% poly but a nylon poly blend and a rough bark will fray thoes but im with the others that dutch is crazy carefull about his products and i would bet its not the dutch product
