    Who sells the widest underquilt?

Up to now I have been using Hammock Gears full-length Incubator underquilt. Fantastic quilt - but I find that at home with a Brazilian hammock, it's too narrow. I had a look at cheap down sleeping bags, but they're not that cheap, and I would have to put in a lot of effort to convert one into a large underquilt. I'm also doubtful that I would do a good job, so maybe it's better to spend a bit more and buy something ready-made.

I'm looking for a really wide underquilt (XXL, so to speak). Doesn't need to be down, as weight is not an issue, and since I sleep indoors, it doesn't need to be ultra-warm. So which quilt is the widest available at the moment?

I wonder if, with more and more full-time hammock users, somebody will start making dedicated home-quilts.

I would try a fleece blanket for indoors in a heated space. If the space isn't heated, I would switch hammocks or get a bigger wallet

Hammock Gear does custom jobs, get a hold of them and I'm sure they'd discuss some options with you.

Yes, the room is heated, but...

    - I sleep very cold. The 3-Season Incubator is rated down to 20°F - but I can only take it down to around 40°F before I'm starting to get uncomfortable and have to add a hot water bottle or the likes.

    - I don't like heating when sleeping - it makes the air very dry.

If you say fleece blanket, do you mean as an underquilt? I tried lying on a blanket, but it kept bunching. I'd need to find something stiffer than a blanket, like a mat (but would prefer natural materials).

Do they still do that? When I orderd my quilt a year ago, I called Adam, and I got the impression that they don't really do custom anymore. But maybe they were just ultra-busy at that time.

I'll let them speak directly to it, but I have a few custom HG quilts in my closet.

I just purchased a custom UQ and TQ from Hammock Gear and then turned around to order more. I cant speak for them but it is certainly worth giving Adam a call.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I know that my wife has sometimes found deals on both down and synthetic comforters. Could you possibly get a comforter and attach some simple suspension for your hammock? She got a down comforter that was plenty big enough for a queen sized bed for about $35.00 Something like that with a little bit of cord and ingenuity might solve the problem.

We offer the New River up to about 56-57 inches wide. There are a few folks here that we have made them for, in both our 3 season (rated to 30F) and our 1 season (rated to 45F.)

Check with Randy at Gargoylegear. I just got one of his GAR-quilts and it is in fact extra wide and would be perfect for indoors.
I just got mine last friday and used it over the weekend, its a great quilt. I would rate it as about a 50°F quilt, and I'm a cold sleeper too. I used it to supplement my IX quilts and it worked great.
As soon as I have time I plan on doing a full review of this quilt. I would def. recommend it tho'. It is both long and wide so should work great for you.
    Good luck,
