    MSH setup

In all the discussion i've read about MSH everyone talks of putting the whoopie on the knot. I've done this and it's great and all. But i've recently started using the MSH to attach the biner and then putting the whoopie in the biner. Does anyone else do it like this?

This was discussed recently at the thread here. Make sure you tie the MSH the "correct" way or the force on the hitch will actually want to deconstruct it.

I did it for many nights without issue.

I used a similar set up but instead I used the spine or back of the biner as the toggle and then put the whoopie on the knot as usual MSH but threaded it through the biner (put the whoopie through the gate) to ensure it would not come off the MSH like it has on my toggles!

SpaceCadet, I tested that same setup for the MAHHA pre-hike and the rest of the trip with no problems at all. Even had plenty of rain which sometimes makes things slick and/or tight. Didn't even use a slippery to back it up. I also spread the strap out a little more on the biner than you have in the pic with no problems. What that did was got rid of the kinking/wrinkled looking strap when untied. Like tendertoe stated, make sure to use the correct method as one might slip. One thing I really liked about it was when tearing down, you can pull on the tag end of the strap to loosen it. That allows you to slip it off the biner easily.
