I was wondering if anyone has tried to combine the slug and snake skins...
Here is the concept two different snake skins sewed together. So the bottom skin is sil nyl and the other mesh...instead of having two free floating skins its in one tube like the slug...any ideas

hey ricecg,
im a LST user and a tarp sleeve user and imho separate is the way to go.
a separate tarp sleeve allows for a quick deployment in the case of bad weather.
it allows the hammock quilts and other "in slug" items to remain in the relative safety of the pack while setting the tarp.
(i keep my tarp outside of my pack).
when packing out in foul weather one can have everything packed and good to go except the tarp.
when the weather breaks the tarp can be sleeved and strapped on the pack and hit the trail.
there are other factors that would make a "double barrel" less convenient,
but the above imho are the things that make sleeves and tubes the effort.:
