    Big Dog Stake

I was at WalMart the other day, buying some dog food, when I noticed they carried something called a Big Dog Stake:

It's basically a really heavy duty steel stake that is 24" long and has prongs to keep it from pulling out of the ground. It think it would be great for those of you who are using 2x4's and one tree or something like Risk does. They were about $8 each.

Would you have to also use a sledgehammer to get it into the ground?

Probably. It's a pretty substantial hunk of metal. Honestly getting it into the ground would be the easy part. Getting back out of the ground would probably require a backhoe

Would you just need one for each end, or more than one?

I think you would only need one per end. With that size stake you could probably do something on both ends and not even need any trees. There is a thread here somewhere that shows warbonnetguy's stand that uses ratchet straps, the big screw type dog tie out, and some metal poles. I think these stakes would be perfect for something like that.
