    I have to second this. My first tarp was a poly backed 1.9 ripstop and I used DIY seam sealer from GE silicon (Best Kind hands down), any how it is now peeling up - but it lasted nearly 3 years.

    For PU coated fabric, I've had good luck with McNett's Seam Grip. I keep mine in the freezer and let it warm up before use- the last tube lasted at least 7 years this way.

    I don't remember where I read it, and can't verify the effectiveness, but it said to use silicone ADHESIVE (instead of 100% sillicone) for PU coated tarps. Good luck.
