Located right outside Leroy, Alabama, a few miles from my house. Pretty cool spot and hanger friendly.
Mosquitoes are really bad in the warmer months. I bet I lost a Liter of blood taking these pics.
They have lots of trails for horses, though I walk them just fine, and horse stables. There is also an archeaology
dig going on on the property where the old town of St. Stephens was located. This place is basically an old
abandoned limestone quarry. After it shut down many years ago, these lakes formed. The site is right atop a bluff
of the Tombigbee River. Camping on a pad with water and power is about $20. This place is no longer state funded.
If you have any questions, just ask.
Also on the property is a very nice boat launch into the Tombigbee River, and a swimming beach on the lakes.
