Thanks. One of our HF mods, Headchange4U had 3 versions made up that can be used at HF group hangs. There will be more info about that later.

That looks like a blast and that is one really cool banner. It would be terrifying to wake up with squirrel man standing next to your hammock.... that gives me an idea.

Thanks to Slowhike for recognizing and organizing a great hammock event.

I made it home after driving through 2 mini hurricanes, one on I-77 above Columbia and another on US 17 heading toward Savannah. I think those were about the hardest rains I've seen in long time. Rev kept me awake.
It was a fantastic hang even with the weather issues. The plus was everyone got a terrific test of their tarps and setups.
Thanks to Dutch and other suppliers for supporting and running the Saturday night raffle. Many excellent items were on the table. More to come on the money raised.

Can't wait for next year's Festival.

Big thanks to all who cooked this weekend too! The gumbo was delicious, as were the pancakes, venison sausage, bacon, breads, monkeybread, and cobbler!
Hope to see y'all at another hang soon!

We are home safe, and I love, love, love my hammock friends! I just wish the weekend did not end so quickly. I did not have the time or opportunity to meet everyone there nor see more of the things I wanted to see. This was also a hit for my mom and son. (very tired and sore, will talk more tomorrow and try to get some pictures up).

If you enjoyed this weekend w/ all the rain, just wait until you have a weekend with perfect weather
Good meeting you, your mom & son. Hope we'll see you at another one.

And glad your mom loved the hammock you provided her.
Along with your mom, I know of at least one other hammock convert from this weekend... a young lady now known as Sawgy (Soggy), but I'll let someone else tell that story

We had some long distance & some really long distance travelers for this trip.
I believe Big Turtle drove 15 hours from Missouri, getting to camp in the early morning hours.
And two other HF members (y'all help me with the names) drove 16 hours from Fort Myers, Florida to get there, also in the early hours of Sat morn.

The proceeds from the raffle came to $560. Dutch gave us a higher figure at the beginning of the raffle, but corrected the misquote soon after.
I guess he was nervous because he was having to follow in the foot steeps of the great job done by Pan (of JRB) as "Raffle Master"

We repaid RockDawg $145 for reserving the group site, Gumbo $20 toward all the extra group food she bought, & some of the group members decided to reimburse me $60 for the 20 x 30 group tarp.
BTW, that tarp is available for any HF group car camping and close enough to pick it up.

After taking out the $225 mentioned above, there is $335 left over. Our group decided to donate the extra to "Friends of Grayson Highlands State Park". The things they do include youth education (nature/environmental related), beautification of GHSP, etc. They also provided the very helpful weather cam & web site that lets us see the current weather & weather history at the GHSP ranger station any time.
