    I think 100 foot difference will still maintain the thrill factor. Sounds like a fun climb as well as a interesting night up in the tree, a whole different world that high up.

    Question: In the first pic of Trip#2, your suspension biners - what type of rope are they clipped to? That's not the paracord, is it?

    I actually tried that once and it was a lot of fun. You are smarter than I was being that you're actually tied to the tree 100% of the time.

    I hung mine from one solid branch and just hoped down for a hang. As you found out already, the hard part isn't getting the hammock up, but the tarp.

    However, I used the branch I was hung from as kind of a ridgeline and put my tarp over it. Then just tied my guylines out to branches below.

    Wasn't there an "extreme hammock hanging" thread with a video of a guy doing this a few months ago?

    I think knowing that people hammock mountainside makes hanging higher in a tree not as exciting for me
