Its just like a soft carabiner...

Open the loop, slip the big knot out of it, run the loop through whatever you are going to secure, put the loop over the knot again and milk it back tight(close the loop under the big knot) ..

They are simple, light and very strong. I use 4 of them in my hammock/SRL setup, and use them on my tarp prusiks and pretty much anywhere else I need a carabiner.

As a side note, Shug, I am watching Sling Blade on Netflix to understand your video references more.
Good Movie. I understood those right of the bat because of Netflix. Makes the videos that much better

I tried setup times using carabiners, the nacrabiners, and just running the webbing through itself. They are listed above from fastest to slowest and heaviest to lightest.

I trust the carabiners as much as running the webbing through itself, but after hanging out for a few minutes using just the nacrabiners, I did not feel to comfortable. I suppose I could just get used to them, but I would rather a sturdier hardware I think.

Is there anywhere I could get a set of Dutch Biners cheaper than JRB? I just sprung a bunch of money on some Reflectix and then stuff fro a DIY UQ. I may have to stick with the carabiners for a quick set up for now.

Don't fret over the sturdieness of the soft shackle/nacrabiners...

I'm 300lbs and hang on them every day... They run through the end of my hammocks and have the ridgeline and whoopies connected to them, never had a second thought they are strong as all get out.

Here is a pic of how I suspend my hammock...
You can see the soft shackle through the end of the hammock to the whoopie fixed eye, and then another soft shackle from the fixed eye running to the SRL. Don't mind the loose 550 cord, it was there to hang an underquilt.

This setup is on all 3 of my hammocks, rock solid, no worries about it holding, comming loose etc...

The ones I was given have a fixed loop on the end. I can not tighten them like in your pictures. That would make me feel more secure.

    Are you sure its fixed?

Some of them I've seen people make they do not burry like a soft shackle (maybe thats what makes them a nacrabiner?), but just pass the one end through the other then tie the stopper... it works the same, just easier to open and close..

If its fixed, that would make no sense, lol... That would work more like a button knot, kind of useless for our purposes...

See if the loop can be opened and closed.

After digging around the tip with the loop, I found that it did have a cinch closure, but it is a little funky looking:

Love my Camp Nano's. Might not be the lightest but sure are fast and easy. No matter the conditions, (of the weather or me )

They also give a multitude of connection options, allowing for a range of ways to fasten the huggers to themselves, the trees, or the suspension. If I have a huge span I can extend the huggers to help give more reach, or if the trees are very close I can hardmount the hammock end right to the hugger for shortest possible distance.
