I always find myself needing small sections of shock cord, so I bit the bullet and bought a bulk roll of it off Amazon.
1/8" x 500 ft = $40 shipped
So, my total was .08 a foot
I like that it is on a roll, cheap, and I don't have to do any extra work except measure and cut.
And I have enough to last a few years.
Silly thought here and bring a noob here. could you use part of this cargo net and fashion it to the same contour as your hammock to hold up your underquilt. My thought process was to eliminate gaps or air spaces between the hammock and UQ preventing CBS. Adding just enough tension to support and yet keep out excesses air gaps..
Thinking of spacing the support pieces about 12 in. apart, looping and tying the shock could to the main line to each end of the gathered end of my hammock. Any thoughts.
I saw this thread and other day and picked one of these up to re do my canoe. Wow, I got enough cord to last me the rest of my life time.

The only downside to that is the net will compress the insulation...

I've bought webbing a few times from Shipper Supplies. When you get a good roll, it is great. However, a couple of times, I've gotten rolls that have had bad areas. Either material along the edges was snagged or there were runs in the threads. Once, on a 300' ft roll, I had to toss 50' of it in the trash.
When I contacted them, they didn't do anything to fix the problem, just said it wasn't "normal".
So, while the price is great, factor in subpar service and possible bad batches.
+1 on supply. Captain. Seven dollars for 100 foot 1/8 inch many colors to chose from and fast shiping
I just did the Barbour freight netting thing. not a bad deal, but I don't feel it's the greatest quality. It will work for what I intend to use it for at his time though.
