Spent a couple days in the Yellow River State Forest. Got down to 38 and was rainy so I only filmed on the first day.

It’s amazing how a steep hill doesn't look steep on film. Still sounded steep though! OWoww, I’d like to climb that fire tower, that’d be great! Nice grassy camp ground, all to yourself too. Good cook up, good video, good of you to post it! Thanks Doody!
Thanks Doody. Enjoyed making the video trip with you.
Well Thankee. A Videographer, I am not but it helps pass the time.Very Nice sir
I like a mellow hike. If I wanted to get as fast as possible from point a to point b, I'd just take the car.Nice post dood. Quality vid. An easy trip. My kind of outing. Keep it coming.

Its a nice place. That's the only campsite that's wide open and flat like that. It would be a good site for a group hang, I think. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the bushbuddy is to use. The fuel is literally underfoot all the time. It was a wet weekend but I was able to find plenty of fuel without any trouble.Wide open spaces there!!!

I am not a very good filmer. It was, indeed, pretty steep. Im sure it would be theoretically possible to shimmy up the diagonal cross brace, throw a line attached to some tree strap webbing over the brace on the first landing and pull yourself up. Then it might be an leisurely climb up ten stories of stairs with rotted treads to discover that the floor of the firetower had rusted through in several places as had the roof. This is all purely speculative, of course, because it is clearly marked, "No Trespassing".Bruciehi5 It’s amazing how a steep hill doesn't look steep on film. Still sounded steep though! It was, indeed, my pleasure. I hope to get to hike and hang with some of you fine folks sometime.Old River Rat Thanks Doody. Enjoyed making the video trip with you.
Doody! My wife told me to look up your video (guess who) ! Looks like you got the Bush Buddy out with great effect. Perhaps you should stroll down State Street and let me have a look at it sometime. This summer has been the pits for getting away as you may be aware. We might have to get the warbonnets out for a pow wow if you have a free evening sometime. I think I could manage a low 40 degree overnight with a little prepping. Thanks for the video....it was fun to see you getting out to explore.
I love that camp site!! I hung there in June. Next time I think I'll park in the parking area off the fire road. I used my filter to filter water from the stream too.
