I really like this option. I have several sleeping bags. I like the idea of using something that I already own...plus there is no harm to the sleeping bag if it ends up not working for me.

    Well done!

Great job on the step-by-step explanation, too!

I'm still pretty new to all this, and I REALLY like your idea. However, I just don't quite get how you've rigged the thing. I have an extra bag and have piddled around with it with no cords and clips (just some small bungees), but doesn't seem to hug my hammock or stay in place.

Can you give some of us who want to try your method a little more detailed or pedestrian instructions?

Thanks for your post. Might be one of the most helpful for us in a while!

    Jim

    Good info and photos

Great job, Jason. I've been struggling with understanding some other posts re: making my own UQ, but your explanation and photos are excellent. Now I get it. Gonna try it soon. Thanks!

Actually thinking of taking my military sleep system and adding a Velcro or zipper opening in each end. This would be a very warm system I think just have to get the wife to help since the last time I tried sewing I sewed my fingers together. Dont ask but it can be done.....
