    $6 eBay Hammock

    Anyone have any experience with such a thing? I am not expecting it to be great or anything. I own a WBBB & an ENO ProNest. I'm just curious what you get for $6. I almost bought one to check it but figured I'd check here 1st.

    Does anyone have any experience with something like this?

    Wondering it it is worth anything as an ultra-cheap hammock.

    EDIT::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
    Stumbled across this too, only $30. Claims to weight about 26 oz which isn't too bad for $44. Although the way the netting is pulled up by center pull-out looks like a total pain.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Sean

    its like a fish net. when i would get out you could play checkers on my back. the kids loved it and played with it all summer. this was years ago, but the same hammock.

    A friend of mine has one of these for backyard lounging.
    It's never appealed to me, as I can't see it being overly pleasant for 2 main reasons:
    1) the fishnet effect as mentioned by Kayak Karl
    2) your entire underside is exposed! A nylon hammock may not provide the greatest protection/insulation in the world, but how much worse would be a ton of open holes? More over, the mosquito effect would be hell!

    Another friend of mine had a $20 rope hammock that had spreader bars built on to it, he used it for a few hangs while trying to track down a cheap nylon hammock. He did find it comfortable, but watching him go through the heartache of constantly having to untangle it when setting up, and the timely pack-away procedure, I fail to see any reason anyone would ever want one.

    Spend your money elsewhere. There are better options out there.

    The second hammock doesn't look too bad though.

    EDIT: Take that back. It's 7'4" long.

    Carried one of the net hammocks for a couple years, as a camp chair and gear hammock. I think it was used for a night or two during summer months. They are what they are, and yes they do tangle.

    I found the best use was during the winter months as a gear hammock keeping things out of the snow and mud. Might make a huge tree hugger
